GreenFleet Awards nomination for our Paul

Now in its 11th year, the GreenFleet Awards 2009 will take place at the Guild Hall, London on Thursday 1st October, and will once again recognise the pioneers of environmental fleet management. And this year, our very own Paul Lucas is up for an award. Paul who writes for TheGreenCarWebsite.co.uk, has been shortlisted for the prestigious 'Green Motoring Journalist of the Year Award', so good luck to him and we will of course inform you of how it goes on the night of the awards.

The awards themselves are hosted by the City of London, the climax of the 2009 GreenFleet series of events will see public and private sector organisations rewarded for their efforts in environmental fleet management and green motoring at a spectacular awards evening. Awards include ‘Alternative Fuel Supplier of the Year’, ‘Breakdown/Recovery Company of the Year’, ‘City Car Manufacturer of the Year’, ‘Electric Vehicle of the Year’, ‘Fleet of the Year’ and ‘IT Innovation Award’ among others.

The Awards are being presented this year by TV motoring presenter Tiff Needell (Fifth Gear). The event opens with a champagne drinks reception followed by a four course dinner, and then onto the main event – discovering which organisations have been successful in their quest for a coveted GreenFleet Award.

During the day, the G Factor conference and exhibition will take place, featuring the latest innovations in manufacturing, technology and fuel. Visitors are encouraged to attend from the fleet and freight industries. A buffet luncheon will be provided for pre-registered visitors.

Judged by representatives from the Institute of Car Fleet Management, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership and GreenFleet magazine, the awards are a key date in the transport industry calendar.

G Factor Conference & Exhibition

Taking place from 9.00am at The Guildhall, London, will be the GreenFleet G-Factor Conference. The daytime event features keynote speaker presentations from industry experts and the Fleet of the Year presentations to the G-Factor judging panel.

Representatives from the shortlisted entrants in the Public Sector Fleet and Private Sector Fleet of the Year categories will each detail the steps they have been taking to reduce the environmental impact of their transport operation. The G-Factor judging panel will then score each presentation, along with the audience, who will cast their votes interactively.

The results from the G-Factor are then calculated and presentations are made at the evening Awards Dinner.

In the exhibition area, visitors will be able to see the latest solutions for a greener fleet.

Capital Arrive N Drive
The Capital Arrive ‘N’ Drive is an outdoor display of vehicles and technology that can help to reduce CO2 from fleet transport. This will be taking place on Guildhall Yard throughout the day.

Some manufacturers wlll have vehicles available to test drive, so attendees must be sure to bring their drivers licenses.
