The last time we saw the Triac from Green Vehicles, Inc., we were not exactly impressed. Perhaps we should’ve tried to get a ride in the new 2010 version that the company unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. While we still don’t think we’ve got $25,000 to spend on one of these, we would like to see what the updates have done to this unusual three-wheeler.
People who did buy the 2009 edition of the Triac trike told Green Vehicles what they did and didn’t like about that car, and the company made a lot of changes to the new version. One of those changes was upping the “real-world range of 80 to 100+ miles” by an additional 20 miles, a mighty impressive increase. We don’t know how the upgrade was accomplished, but the press release (available after the jump) talks about improvements to the “non-traditional electric drive-train” and “next-generation energy storage and power systems.” So, good on ‘em if all this is true. The 2010 Triac should be available in October.
